INTERREG A funds cross-border projects. Cooperation in this segment aims to promote emerging of cross-border economic and social priorities based on joint strategies for sustainable territorial development. The programme is divided into so-called cooperation areas, which extend along the national external borders of the EU states. The German federal programme Transnational Cooperation supports INTERREG B projects that pursue an integrated and spatially effective approach.
INTERREG Europe supports interregional cooperation between all European regions. The entire territory of the European Union is eligible for project funding. Partners from Norway and Switzerland can also be considered.
