Are you interested in pursuing a doctorate or are you already a doctoral researcher at the University of Freiburg? Then here is you central service point. The Graduate Centre (GraCe) offers transdisciplinary advising, qualification and financial support. We are guided by the intention to create the best possible conditions for doctoral research at the university. The advisory board, which has an eye on these conditions, therefore includes representatives from all faculties – and the doctoral candidates themselves. Because this is also an important objective for us: giving doctoral candidates a strong voice.

Roche Continents 2026 Apply now!

Application Deadline February 17 at 1 pm

Roche Continents brings together 40 talented students from Europe’s top universities for a week-long program where the worlds of art, science, and innovation converge to foster a more sustainable future. Participants will engage with world-renowned scientists, artists, and leaders, explore thought-provoking research, participate in workshops, and build valuable connections. All costs are covered, except for personal expenses and optional activities on the day off.

*             A letter of motivation (max. 2 pages)
*             A CV, including proof of English fluency  (e.g. a language certificate, participation in English-speaking conferences, an English-taught Master’s degree, or publications in English)
