- Exploration of scaffolds and glycoconjugation methods to mimic natural sugar structures.
- Discussion of multivalency, its biomedical relevance, and applications in vaccines, antivirals, cancer therapy, and wound healing.

- Polymeranalytik: Molekulargewicht/-verteilung, Verhalten in Lösung, Konformation, Phasendiagramme, Viskosimetrie, GPC, Ultrazentrifugation, Lichtstreuung.

- Examples of recycling methods for commodity polymers.
- Modern developments in sustainable polymers: renewable resources and biorecycling.

- Introduction to sequence-control in biological and synthetic polymers, including parallels, differences, and types of control.
- Synthetic methods for sequence-control: solid-phase synthesis, controlled radical polymerizations, and specialized protocols.
- Applications and examples from literature, with emphasis on diversity in the research community.

- Introduction to sustainability: history, definitions, applicability
- Strategies for sustainable polymers: recycling, renewable monomers, biodegradable polymers, comparisons with glass/wood
- Current limits, challenges, and potential solutions from industry and academia

- Students select a current topic/example of sustainable polymers or materials
- Prepare presentation based on recent literature (10 minutes)
- Followed by class discussion (5 minutes)
