The degree programmes B.Sc. and M.Sc. Molecular Medicine are regulated by the faculty councils of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Biology and the following committees.

The curriculum committee is appointed by the faculty council to advise on the development of the degree programmes with regard to content and pedagogy in the context of subject-related and societal developments as well as student feedback and to decide the use of the appointed financial means (§26 LHG). The term of office of staff members is linked to the dean’s term of office. The term of office of student members is one academic year. The other degree programmes at the Faculty of Medicine have separate curriculum committees.

The examination committee’s tasks are laid out in the Study and Examination Regulations. The examination committee ensures compliance with the regulations. Members of the examination committee as well as the chair and vice-chair are appointed by the faculty council of the Faculty of Medicine in accordance with the faculty council of the Faculty of Biology. The examination committee consists of six staff members, three employed at the Faculty of Medicine and three employed at the Faculty of Biology. Of the three staff members per faculty, two are employed as lecturers and one as academic employee. One student representative is appointed as representative with no right to vote. The term of office of student members is one academic year. The term of office of staff members is two years. Members can be reappointed. In accordance with §28 of the Study and Examination Regulations for the degree programme B.Sc. Molecular Medicine the faculty council appointed the staff members of the examination committee mentioned above on 19 October 2023.

Selection Committee B.Sc. Molecular Medicine

In accordance with §4 paragraph 1 of the statute of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg regarding the selection process for the degree programme B.Sc. Molecular Medicine, the faculty council of the Faculty of Medicine appoints a selection committee in accordance with the faculty council of the Faculty of Biology to regulate the selection process. The selection committee consists of two staff members of either the Faculty of Medicine or the Faculty of Biology who are authorised to conduct examinations and are actively involved in teaching on the degree programme. At least one member needs to be an appointed professor. Members of the selection committee serve a term of two years, and may be reappointed. The faculty council appointed the staff members of the examination committee mentioned above on 18 April 2024.

Gemäß § 4 Absatz 1 und 2 der Zulassungsordnung der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität für den Studiengang Master of Science Molekulare Medizin setzt die Medizinische Fakultät für Entscheidungen im Rahmen des Zulassungsverfahrens des Master of Science Studiengangs Molekulare Medizin eine Zulassungskommission ein. Die Zulassungskommission besteht aus zwei Hochschullehrer*innen der Medizinischen Fakultät oder der Fakultät für Biologie sowie einer / einem hauptberuflich an einer der beiden Fakultäten tätigen Akademischen Mitarbeiter*in, die / der regelmäßig Lehrveranstaltungen im Studiengang Master of Science Molekulare Medizin durchführt und prüfungsbefugt ist. Die Amtszeit der Mitglieder der Zulassungskommission beträgt zwei Jahre; eine Wiederbestellung ist zulässig. Die / Der Vorsitzende der Zulassungskommission wird von der Medizinischen Fakultät benannt. Beschlüsse der Zulassungskommission werden mit einfacher Mehrheit gefasst; bei Stimmengleichheit entscheidet die Stimme der / des Vorsitzenden. Der Fakultätsrat hat in seiner Sitzung am 18.04.2024 die o. g. Mitglieder in die Zulassungskommission für den M. Sc. Molekulare Medizin bestellt.

The departmental student committee of the degree programmes B.Sc. and M.Sc. Molecular Medicine is open to all students of the degree programmes B.Sc. and M.Sc. Molecular Medicine at the University of Freiburg and elects the student representative for the councils, commissions and committees from their members.
