About the Institute

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 2003 as part of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.

The institute brings together a broad range of disciplines within the pharmaceutical sciences, creating a dynamic environment that integrates research, teaching, and continuing education.

It is organized into the following departments:

– Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry
– Clinical Pharmacy
– Pharmaceutical Biology & Biotechnology
– Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics
– Pharmaceutical Technology

Degree Programms

At the institute, students can qualify as licensed pharmacists through the State Examination with optional Diploma, or pursue a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences through the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

In addition, the institute offers opportunities for doctoral studies (Dr. rer. nat.) and – for candidates with the required academic qualifications – postdoctoral qualification (habilitation).
