The Institute of Chinese Studies welcomes ERASMUS applications from MA students.
Application deadline: 31 January
Required application documents: Letter of motivation (approx. 2 pages).
Students interested in ERASMUS should consult with the departmental ERASMUS coordinator (Lynn Kalic, lynn.kalic@mail.sinologie.uni-freiburg.de) prior to their application.
Study begins in the winter term (August/September) of the same year.

Students in the MA Modern China Studies program receive credit in Module 7: Semester abroad.
Please note: the semester abroad must comprise approximately 30 ECTS (or the respective equivalent). Up to 5 ECTS can be earned by writing an appropriate study report of adequate length. At least 25 ECTS must be earned at the receiving institution. The exact requirements can be found in the MA program exam regulations („Prüfungsordnung“). Please contact the program coordinator, Dr. Amanda Shuman, with any questions.

Native and non-native Chinese speakers participate in Chinese language source reading classes. Students attending the Language and Reading Exercises are usually divided into two groups: one for non-native Chinese speakers and one for native Chinese speakers and those with HSK 6.
