Regular course fee: € 900.00
Reduced fee for ERASMUS students of the University of Freiburg: € 800.00
Course fee includes:
– 72 hours of instruction in the morning courses
– optional 40 hours of instruction in the afternoon courses
– all course materials
– course completion certificate
– leisure programme
– optional weekend day trips at 50 € per trip
– student discount for meals at the university canteen
– Internet access in the university buildings
A limited number of rooms are available at € 490.00
Rooms are located in various student dormitories in Freiburg. Rooms can only be reserved for the duration of the course.
Room fee includes:
– simple student single room with shared kitchen and bathroom
– Internet access
– dormitory service
– a blanket and a pillow (bedding not included)

You can earn up to 6 ECTS in our courses:
4 ECTS for the morning course (active class participation, max. 3 absences allowed)
1 ECTS per afternoon class (full attendance), max. 2 ECTS for the afternoon courses

After successful registration and payment we will gladly send you an official invitation to the course (upon request).
Insurance is not included in the course fee, but having coverage for your travel and your stay is essential. Please contact your insurance company in advance to find out about your coverage.
The nearest airport is EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (about one hour by bus from Freiburg).
Other major international airports include Frankfurt and Zurich, both less than three hours away by train.
Frankfurt airport is directly connected to the highspeed railway system, so best use Frankfurt am Main Flughafen Fernbahnhof for your connection to Freiburg. Deutsche Bahn website or DB Navigator app will help you plan your trip.
Freiburg’s city centre, your classroom and all dormitories can easily be reached by public transport during the daytime.
For your stay in Freiburg, we will offer information about public transport tickets on arrival day and during our course office opening hours.
Our course office is conveniently located in the centre of Freiburg, near the main train station and the main tram stop. Most classrooms and the canteen are within short walking distance.

Free WiFi is available on campus, e.g. in your classroom.
We will provide you with personal access details on arrival day.
Free WiFi is also available in the dormitories.
We will provide information on how to access the individual networks.
Meals are not included in the course fee. However, we will provide you with a payment card with which you can enjoy healthy meals at reduced student prices at Mensa (canteen) and university cafeterias on campus. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
Mensa opening hours: Mon-Fri, 11:30 –14:00 and Sat 11:45 – 13:30.
Lunch prices for students: € 2.50 – 5.00
There are supermarkets and restaurants all over the town and close to dormitories.
Please note that shops are usually closed on Sundays.
In the afternoon, students can participate in complementary exercise courses, e.g. communication training, or seminars on different current issues in the areas of cultural and social sciences, e.g. history, literature, environment and interculturality.
Wherever your passion lies, we’ve got you covered — from guided tours through Freiburg’s most famous sights to discovering hidden gems and visiting regional organisations. Social activities create an easy-going atmosphere, perfect for meeting and bonding with new friends from the course. Beginner-friendly hikes provide breath-taking views and fresh air for outdoor enthusiasts; while museum visits bring fascinating insights into art and local heritage. On weekends, we offer exciting day trips to must-see towns and places in the region (e.g. Lake Titisee). We usually travel by public transport, and you are responsible for getting your own tickets. Additionally, there are also full-day excursions by chartered bus (e.g. Heidelberg or Black Forest), where an extra fee applies.
