Welcome to CPI – Chemistry & Physics of Interfaces!
The Rühe group investigates the development of strategies for generating tailormade surfaces. We develop new chemical methods to attach polymers to surfaces and combine them with methods of nano and micro structuring to produce novel metamaterials and interactive materials. Fields of applications are biointerfaces (cell adhesion, biofouling; lab-on-chip, hydrogels), optics, tribology, living materials systems, and surfaces with unusual wetting behavior.
