Major

Environmental Earth Science

The Environmental Earth Science major takes a hands-on approach to tackling natural and human-made environmental challenges. Grounded in systems science, it emphasizes the practical application of geoscience and environmental science principles to explore how physical, biological, and chemical processes interact within the critical zone—the dynamic layer where Earth’s surface, water, air, and life converge.

Major

Earth and Planetary Science

The subject of the Earth and Planetary Science major is the study of planet Earth and other celestial bodies. Our vision is to understand Earth by comparing it to other planets. Various scientific disciplines of geosciences and planetology are integrated. The aim is to gain a comparative understanding of the physical and chemical processes, the development and the general properties of the Earth and the planets and, against this background, to be able to react better to challenges such as climate change or natural disasters.
