Conveying Sustainability

University Report 2025 on Sustainability

According to the report, there are ever more high‑quality continuing‑education offerings on biodiversity and global health. Certified programmes include four CAS in the field of Planetary Health, seven CAS in Solar Energy Engineering, and two micro‑credentials at the Institute for Forest Management. Several certifications in species knowledge (field botany) are aimed at biodiversity assessors and are aligned with the requirements of the nationwide Working Group of Environmental Education Centres (BANU). The offering has been expanded to cover the area of grasses.

Conclusion: As noted in the University of Freiburg’s Sustainability Report 2025 (p. 43), the continuing education programme is providing important impulses for sustainable development.

Supporting Teacher Health

Preventive and health‑promoting programmes for teachers in the state’s schools are more necessary than ever. A new offering from the Freiburg Institute for musicians medicine FIM, culminating in a Certificate of Advanced Studies, will train qualified professionals from the fields of speech‑language pathology, psychology, education and medicine starting in September 2026. Those graduates will then be able to lead workshops or pedagogical days at schools as well as professional development sessions for teams in social pedagogy, youth education and adult education.

The aim is to convey research‑based and practice‑tested strategies for vocal and mental health in all teaching professions, thereby easing career pathways for educators.

Seminar Day “Medical Humanities” 03/26

What does it mean to be a doctor? What does it mean to be a female doctor? Anyone working in clinical settings knows that this question is anything but trivial. The medical role consists of technical‑practical, communicative, caring, and organisational tasks. Formulating a professional identity can therefore be challenging, especially as unspoken hierarchies and power structures are at work. (Continuing‑medical‑education credits, german-speaking seminar)
