Simon obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Freiburg. He subsequently began his Master’s degree in Freiburg, where he completed his thesis in the group of Prof. Giuseppe Sansone. His research focused on the characterization and implementation of a pulsed valve as a gas source for velocity map imaging (VMI) measurements. This work enabled high-resolution measurements due to the increased signal intensity in the VMI setup. In January 2026, he began his PhD, specializing in the investigation of atoms and molecules using attosecond pulses generated from compressed laser pulses in a reaction microscope.
