Ioannis studied physics at the University of Ioannina and completed his master’s degree at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He received his doctorate from the University of Crete under the supervision of Prof. D. Charalambidis and Dr. P. Tzallas at FORTH-IESL, where he worked on multiphoton processes triggered by intense XUV attosecond pulse trains. After completing his doctorate, he conducted postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. G. Sansone at the University of Freiburg. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Georg H. Endress Postdoc Cluster at the Center for Quantum Science and Quantum Computing. His research focuses on electron correlation effects and the coupled dynamics of atomic nuclei and electrons. He uses techniques such as attosecond photoelectron interferometry and coincidence spectroscopy. He is also involved in experimental investigations at FERMI in Trieste and ELI-ALPS in Szeged, where he is working on attosecond coherent control and nonlinear attosecond dynamics.
