Samuel is a master’s student working in the Attosecond Reaction Microscope Laboratory. He completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Freiburg and conducted the experimental part of his bachelor’s thesis in the Attosecond group. He worked on the generation of odd and even higher harmonics using a dual-color excitation field.
For his master’s project, his goal is to develop and test a compact slit and delay unit for pump-probe measurements. This unit should enable both small, precise step sizes and large scan ranges. It consists of a split mirror driven by a piezoelectric motor to ensure delay steps down to the attosecond range.
