Simon did his Bachelor in physics at the university of Freiburg, where he decided to do his Bachelor thesis in the Group of Prof. Giuseppe Sansone. With the topic of “Strong-field photoionization of noble gas atoms” he worked together with Samuel Kellerer on the built up of a reaction microscope. Here, one of his tasks was to implement the two Helmholz coils for the magnetic field, wheres their geometry differs from the common round coil shape. In october of 2024 he began his Master thesis in the same group, where the goal is to test and implement a pulsed nozzle instead of the continous one for the velocity map imaging setup.
