Research

Welcome to the world of BrainLinks-BrainTools! This is where life sciences and engineering come together to develop innovative medical technology that interacts directly with the nervous system. Our goal is to take the interface between brain and technology to a new level. Interdisciplinary collaboration results in solutions that not only advance basic research, but also enable clinical applications – from the treatment of neurological diseases to the development of intelligent assistance systems. Established as a Cluster of Excellence in 2012 and now anchored as a center at the University of Freiburg, BrainLinks-BrainTools is a hotspot for pioneering neurotechnology.
