Theses that are registered with the examination office from October 1, 2025 onward only need to be submitted in PDF format.
Please note the following steps to write a Bachelor Thesis at the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics:
- Step 1: Send the request form to our secretary with your CV and your most recent Transcript of Records.
- Step 2: The topic of your thesis will be discussed during a meeting with Prof. Dr. Halbleib. Afterwards, you have to register for the Bachelor Thesis officially at the Examination Office.
Requirements:
- Successful participation of Statistik and Ökonometrie.
- Before you register for a thesis, please make sure that you meet the requirements of the Examination Office.
Language:
- German or English with a German summary

- Step 1: Send the request form to our secretary with your CV, your most recent Transcript of Records as well as a Transcript of Records of your Bachelor’s program.
- Step 2: The topic of your thesis will be discussed during a meeting with Prof. Dr. Halbleib. Afterwards, you have to register for the Master Thesis officially at the Examination Office.
Requirements:
- Successful participation in Intermediate Econometrics and in the Seminar in Empirical Finance offered by our chair.
- Before you register for a thesis, please make sure that you meet the requirements of the Examination Office.
Language:
- English (with a German summary for the M.Sc. VWL program)
