Registration for courses and exams
1. Registration for courses [lectures, exercise classes (Übungen), seminars]
a) Registration for lectures and exercise classes (compulsory and elective) is done exclusively via HISinOne.
b) Registration for seminars (compulsory and elective) is done exclusively via the forms linked below. Please send the completed form to: helke.bueche@vwl.uni-freiburg.de:
b) Registration for an examination in a seminar (compulsory and compulsory elective) takes place automatically with registration for the seminar (see above, 1b).
Theses
Theses can be registered on the following dates: January 15, April 15, July 15, October 15.
The chair will not accept any further requests for theses for the October 15, 2025 start date.
The next start date is January 15, 2026.
For the start dates of January 15, April 15, and July 15, topics will be assigned preferably from the list of topics. In addition, preference will be given to master’s theses that use systematic literature analysis as a method.
Theses can be written in English or German.

Please make an appointment with Prof. Dr. Marlene Walk approximately 3-4 weeks before the respective registration deadline. During this meeting, you will be asked to explain your motivation for writing a thesis at the chair and to discuss a possible topic.
If you would like to write your Bachelor’s thesis with Dr. Hana Fehrenbach, please contact her directly by e‑mail at: hana.fehernbach@uni-freiburg.de .
All students who wish to write a thesis at the chair are recommended to participate in a “Kolloquium Abschlussarbeiten (B.Sc., M.Sc.)”. These start at the beginning of the winter and summer semesters.
The supervision of the theses is accompanied by the research assistants at the chair.
