Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – 2 field degree program - Minor Field

Добрый день! dobrý den! dobry dzień! добър ден! dobar dan! Good day!

Even today, many place names indicate that from the seventh century a large part of Germany was occupied by Slavs. Did you know for example that the name Berlin is made up of the words “brl” and the typical Slavic ending “in”, which means roughly “a marshy area”? On Slavic Studies you will study the structure, function and origin of the Slavic language, you will engage with its literature, immerse yourself in the history and culture of Eastern Europe, and learn Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian or Serbian. In the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures of the University of Freiburg you will work in small groups with intensive and individual support from your teachers.
