Sprachwissenschaft des Deutschen (German Linguistics)

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – 2 field degree program - Minor Field

In the minor German Linguistics, the structure and use of the German language are analysed, from sounds and words to sentences and texts. The programme examines how language functions in different contexts, how it changes, and how linguistic behaviour is studied. It also explores how language is used in different social, regional, and media contexts, and how German has changed over time and continues to evolve. The programme deepens linguistic profiles and opens up new career prospects, for example in education, the media, or communication. Depending on the chosen major and the resulting synergies, the minor can specifically complement the graduates’ academic profiles.
