Politikwissenschaft (Political Science)

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – 2 field degree program - Major Field

The Bachelor’s programme in Political Science provides a broad foundation across all key areas of the discipline – from Political Theory and Comparative Politics to International Relations and Multi-level Governance. At the University of Freiburg, Political Science covers the full spectrum of the discipline – a rare feature in the German-speaking world. Students benefit from diverse specialisation options, interdisciplinary teaching, practical methodological training, and a compulsory internship linking theory and practice. Graduates gain in-depth knowledge of political systems, strong analytical skills, and methodological expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research. They are well prepared for careers in politics, administration, media, NGOs, international organizations, or for further academic study in a Master’s program.
