Philosophie (Philosophy)

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – 2 field degree program - Minor Field

Philosophy explores existence, knowledge, morality, justice, and beauty, inviting students to think deeply, challenge assumptions, and examine life systematically, making it the perfect field for curious minds. Philosophy explores the foundations of thought, action, and being across areas such as epistemology, logic, ethics, political philosophy, and aesthetics. In Freiburg, students focus on reading and critically interpreting key texts, emphasising Arabic and transcultural philosophy, classical German philosophy, phenomenology, cultural philosophy, and the philosophy of technology. Studying philosophy develops judgement, independent work, and communication skills, with emphasis on practical abilities such as analysing complex relationships and presenting them clearly, supporting both content knowledge and methodological competence.
