Master of Science (M.Sc.)

The Master’s programme in Biochemistry and Biophysics (binational) at the University of Freiburg is a consecutive, research-focused four-semester program. Building on bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry, biophysics, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, biology, chemistry, or molecular medicine, students gain expertise across the interdisciplinary fields of biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, and bioengineering. The programme combines interdisciplinary research with cutting-edge techniques such as protein crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectrometry. Project-based modules, hands-on labs, and the integration of biochemistry, biophysics, and technology provide a unique learning experience. This binational program at the Universities of Freiburg and Strasbourg awards dual master’s degrees. Graduates are fully prepared for research and development careers in biochemistry, biophysics, life sciences, and biotechnology. Many go on to pursue a PhD, gaining top-level scientific qualifications.
