Sustainable Materials

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

Note

Profiles:

The binational Master’s programme in Sustainable Materials provides in-depth knowledge in polymer chemistry, materials science, and engineering. Students learn to synthesize, characterize, and apply polymer-based materials in a practical, hands-on context. The programme is distinguished by its international orientation: the first semester takes place at the University of Strasbourg (France), the second at the University of Freiburg (Germany), and the following semesters are flexible. The language of instruction is English. Interdisciplinary research, project-based modules, industry internships, and hands-on teaching methods provide a unique combination of chemical, materials science, and engineering perspectives. Graduates are qualified for research and development in the polymer and materials industry, at universities, or in research institutes. Many students go on to pursue a PhD, thereby obtaining the highest scientific qualifications. They possess interdisciplinary skills and intercultural competencies that prepare them especially well for international careers in science, industry, and innovative technology fields.
