Polyvalent dual major bachelor's degree programme - Major field (with secondary-school teaching degree option)

The polyvalent dual major bachelor’s programme in English focuses on linguistics, as well as literary and cultural studies of the English-speaking world. The programme combines the acquisition of English language skills on a high level with an intercultural and interdisciplinary study of language, cultural phenomena, literatures, and media. This opens up various perspectives on historical, political, and cultural developments in English-speaking countries from their beginnings to the present day. Students in the polyvalent dual major bachelor’s in English develop critical thinking, form and present their own viewpoints, and gain insight into English-speaking cultures. If students choose the secondary-school teaching degree option, they qualify for the Master of Education (M.Ed.). The M.Ed. opens the way to teaching at the Gymnasium (secondary school).
