Englisch (English)

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education programme in English combines English didactics with linguistics or literary and cultural studies. Students must study at least one other subject and demonstrate language proficiency in English (B2), German (C1), and either one additional modern foreign language (B2) or Latin. The programme combines the acquisition of English language skills on an advanced level with an intercultural and interdisciplinary study of language, cultural phenomena, literatures, and media. In addition, emphasis is placed on acquiring skills in the teaching of English as a foreign language. The programme M.Ed. English refines critical thinking skills, gives an insight into various English-speaking cultures and conveys didactic skills for teaching English as a foreign language. The programme qualifies graduates for admission to the practical training phase for teacher education at the Gymnasium (secondary school).
