Geographie (Geography)

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

In addition to in-depth subject content, the Master of Education Geography programme focuses on subject-specific teaching and educational science skills for secondary schools. It is designed for students aiming to become secondary school teachers. Building on subject-specific knowledge from the bachelor’s programme, students further specialise through a module on Human–Environment Interactions. Highlights include a multi-day field excursion and the “Schulpraxissemester,” where teacher education students strengthen their connection to schools. After completion, M.Ed. students meet the requirements to begin practical teacher training at secondary schools in Baden-Württemberg and qualify as geography teachers. It does not qualify for vocational school teacher training.
