Master of Education (M.Ed.) - Extension subject (120 ECTS credits)

The Master of Education in English – additional subject programme focuses on linguistics, literary and cultural studies of the English-speaking world, and develops subject-specific didactic skills. The programme combines the acquisition of English language skills on an advanced level with an intercultural and interdisciplinary study of language, cultural phenomena, literatures, and media. This opens up various perspectives on historical, political, and cultural developments in English-speaking countries from their beginnings to the present day. In addition, emphasis is placed on acquiring skills in the teaching of English as a foreign language. The M.Ed. Englisch – additional subject programme refines critical thinking skills, gives an insight into various English-speaking cultures and conveys didactic skills for teaching English as a foreign language. The programme M.Ed. Englisch – additional subject qualifies for teaching English at all levels of the Gymnasium (secondary school).
