The University of Freiburg was awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for the fifth time in 2024. It also received the sustainability award for its long-standing commitment to equality and diversity.
The University of Freiburg was successful with its gender equality concept for parity in the first selection round of the Women Professors Program 2030 initiated by the federal and state governments.
The Margarete von Wrangell Program supports qualified female researchers in the transition from the postdoc phase to a lifetime professorship. Two female junior professors from Freiburg were selected for the program.
The University of Freiburg is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and opposes all forms of discrimination and misanthropy. For this reason, it signed the Charta der Vielfalt (Diversity Charter) back in 2010.
From fall 2024, the University of Freiburg will participate in the Stifterverband’s “Shaping Diversity” diversity audit. The participation is intended to bundle the long-established and sustainably institutionalized work on equality, diversity and inclusion into a comprehensive strategy and further strengthen the profile development that has already begun.
