MSc Forest Sciences

The MSc Forest Sciences programme provides in-depth training in the field of forest sciences. The spectrum of teaching content ranges from fundamental aspects of forest ecosystems in Central Europe and worldwide, to forms and techniques of forest use, the diversity and management of animal and plant populations, and the use of wood for energy and materials.

In addition to ecological contexts, the programme focuses on economic and political aspects as well as applied issues of nature conservation, utilisation techniques and operational management. Particular importance is attached to the principle of sustainability in the management of forests and other near-natural landscapes.

As part of their application, students select one of the three following majors and can further shape their study focus through individual elective modules and a mandatory internship.
