The Freiburg Environmental Humanities Network – an open and interdisciplinary space
Welcome to the website of the Environmental Humanities Network. Its members are united in their interest in societal and planetary changes. The challenges of the so-called Anthropocene are substantial. We need new ways and places to collaborate – not only between humans and nature, but also between disciplines.
Since 2020, the Freiburg Environmental Humanities Network has been developing dialogue formats for this purpose between the humanities, the natural sciences, social sciences and environmental sciences. How can we benefit from different disciplinary perspectives? Which historical and contemporary approaches provide connecting points? And what new questions arise from this discussion and research exchange? In times of Great Acceleration, how does reflection relate to practice?
The active search for collaborations has resulted in numerous projects and products. This website contains information about the Environmental Humanities Network, its members, activities as well as programmes.
