Working Group Environmental Humanities

The Environmental Humanities is broadly defined as the intersection between the humanities and the environmental sciences. It focuses on human interaction with and in the natural world, responses to the global climate crisis, and collaboration between the social and natural sciences to move toward a sustainable future.

The working group Environmental Humanities will discuss essential texts and current developments in this field with topics such as ecocriticism, the evolution of nature writing in literature, environmental justice, human-nature relations, connections between environment and gender, and other relevant themes which you are interested in.

The next meeting of the Environmental Humanities working group will take place on Friday, 28 November 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the DocLounge, Erbprinzenstr. 12. The event will be held in English.

This working group is part of the Environmental Humanities Netzwerk and the Graduiertenschule Humanities.
