A Three Tier Academy
The journey of a Freiburg Rising Star is composed of three elements. First, the Rising Stars Conference Week will give the Rising Stars the opportunity to attend scientific workshops, visit their Host-PIs and connect with their peers. The week will end in the Rising Stars Night, where the most promising research projects will be selected for the following Rising Stars Residency. The chosen Rising Stars will spend up to three months in Freiburg working on their project alongside their Host-PI.
At the end of their Freiburg journey, the Rising Stars stay connected to each other and the Freiburg academic community. Some Rising Stars return to become full-time staff; others come back for visiting scholarships or teaching fellowships. Every Rising Star becomes a vital node in a world-spanning network of excellent researchers and leaders within the Freiburg Alumni Community.
Rising Stars Conference Week
The Conference Week offers the Rising Stars an opportunity to visit their Host-PIs, attend scientific workshops and connect with their peers.
Rising Stars Night
The conference week culminates in the Rising Stars Night, which will be an opportunity for networking and outreach.
Rising Stars Residence
The Rising Stars chosen for the residency program will spend up to 3 months with their Host PIs in Freiburg.
