Thiele Research Group
Solid State and Materials Chemistry
Our research group focuses on sustainable, scalable semiconductor materials for electrochemical and dielectric energy storage applications. The synthetic methods range from molten-salt approaches, ionothermal crystallization, to syntheses in liquefied gases. Methodically, we use predominantly X-ray techniques and dielectric spectroscopy, targeting a fundamental structural understanding of high-capacitance materials.
We have recently moved from Berlin to Freiburg, supporting the institute in research and teaching in inorganic, solid-state, and materials chemistry. We’re always looking for new team members (currently only Bachelor and Master theses possible), collaborators, and people interested in our research – just get in touch!
