EMPOWER ACS: Network of BMBF-funded Advanced Clinician Scientist-Programs

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has allocated funding to eight Advanced Clinician Scientist (ACS) programs at various universities across Germany. The goal of this initiative is to support physicians who are actively engaged in both clinical practice and research. The platform’s primary role is to foster networking and knowledge exchange among ACS participants, organizing regular activities to identify and share best practices. The central coordination office (located in Würzburg) works closely with ACS and their program coordinators to organize collaborative events, e.g. annual network meetings, fostering continued cooperation and dialogue. Public outreach efforts and representation of ACS in political committees further enhance their visibility and contribute to the success of the funding initiative.
