The Biological Signalling Research Group at the Institute of Biology II at the University of Freiburg is looking for a full-time

 

Technical Assistant or Biological Technical Assistant (m/f/d)

 

to work on the ERC-funded project “InCanTeSiMo: Intelligent cancer therapy with synthetic biology methods” and to support other projects and lab activities. The starting date is 01.06.2025.

 

Your area of responsibilities:

You will support various projects by performing molecular cloning, mammalian and/or bacterial cell culture, transfection, live cell fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and data quantification. You will also complete routine tasks required to maintain regular operation of the research laboratory.


Your profile:

Competitive applicants should have completed vocational training as a TA or BTA. They should have extensive experience with molecular biology, bacterial and mammalian cell culture and transfection. Tasks should be carried out largely independently after training. Experience with gene cloning is a pre-requisite, while experience with all other techniques is desirable. Additionally, applicants should be highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, communicate effectively, possess solid technical understanding, and show interest in solving technical problems independently. You will be expected to readily familiarize yourself with new systems and methods, exhibit a high degree of care and attention, and show conscientiousness in everyday laboratory work. The applicants should be fluent in English and in German.
