Orientation internship
The orientation internship is integrated into the polyvalent two-major bachelor’s degree programme as part of the teacher education track (Gymnasium). This early practical phase is designed to help you make the transition from student to teacher and get to know school as a professional field of activity. The structural combination of practical experience and theoretical reflection is intended to encourage you to reflect on your suitability for the teaching profession, thereby enabling you to find orientation for your profession at an early stage and set specific priorities for the rest of your studies.
As a rule, you will attend the lecture ‘Introduction to Educational Sciences’ in the first semester, the successful completion of which is a prerequisite for embarking on the orientation internship. The orientation internship follows during the lecture-free period between the winter and summer semesters and consists of a preparatory workshop, the internship itself and a final follow-up workshop.
