With around 15,000 employees, the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is among the largest university medical centers in Germany. Around 1,800 doctors and 4,300 nurses provide healthcare services to more than 90,000 inpatients and around 900,000 outpatients each year.

The Academy for Medical Vocations at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg offers modern and practically oriented training courses in a number of nursing and therapy professions requiring formal qualifications as well as more than 20 further training courses in commercial, industrial, and medical technology professions. In addition, the Cooperative University offers business and technical courses of study with practical phases at the University Medical Center.
