Parent-child rooms and nappy-changing stations
The University of Freiburg’s family-friendly infrastructure makes it easier for students and working parents with children to stay at the university.
Homeoffice
Employees can find detailed information on the intranet about working from home, mobile working, teleworking and working from home. In addition to the application documents, there is also information on communication, data protection and self-management as well as other helpful tips to ensure that working remotely is a success.
Childcare
High-quality childcare is an important prerequisite for achieving a good balance between family and career or studies. The university contributes to this and offers its employees childcare places in the university daycare centres as well as holiday programmes. The Studierendenwerk also has its own childcare programme for student parents.

The Family Service offers international employees information and advice on childcare in Freiburg.

For employees
Employees can obtain information on maternity protection and parental leave from their contact person in the HR department.

The Safety, Environment and Sustainability Unit offers advice on safety in the workplace during pregnancy.
The Staff Council, the Equal Opportunities Officer for academic staff and the Equal Opportunities Officer for administrative, service and technical staff offer individual counselling on maternity leave, parental leave and returning to work.
For students
