Advising and support
Well advised into and throughout your studies.
On these pages, you will find information about our advisory services and the right contact persons for questions relating to your studies. Please get in touch! We are here to provide you with comprehensive support, from initial orientation to the successful completion of your studies.
For initial information and general questions, please contact the Info Point and the Hotline at the Service Center Studium.
Questions about the organisation of your studies – such as creating your study plan, choosing courses, crediting achievements, or exam modalities and deadlines – can be answered by the departmental academic advisors, programme coordinators, and examination offices at the faculties. There you will receive tailored information about the content, structure, and requirements of your programme. You can find the contact persons for your degree programme on the page for your degree programme in the degree programme finder.
For general topics, such as choosing a degree programme and general study conditions, but also doubts and personal decision-making processes, the advisors of Advising and Counselling of the Service Center Studium are there to assist you.

Workshops and events for students
In addition to individual counselling, we offer events and workshops to support you during your studies: from self-organisation, learning strategies, and stress management to special offers for international students and other student groups.
Information events and fairs for prospective students and parents
We look forward to meeting you at events and education fairs for interested school pupils to discuss study and career options.
Offerings for schools and teachers
The School Contact Point is the central point of contact for schools and teachers for all questions relating to study orientation. At the Schule@Uni event, school classes can learn more about the traditional University of Freiburg and the courses it offers.
Do you have a question about your studies? The Service Center Studium will be happy to help you.
Info-Point and Hotline
Prospective students and current students can obtain initial information about studying via our Hotline or at the Info-Point. Here, you will receive advice on your concerns and find out who to contact if you have any further questions.
