At the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH), a research assistant position is available as soon as possible. Research assistant (f/m/d) – Sustainability assessment of technical systems

Description

Your Challenges

 

·       Collaboration and support in interdisciplinary research projects on the ecological and economic evaluation of technical systems

·       Literature research and analysis, scientific writing

·       Data collection and analysis

·       Application of scientific methods like Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), scenario analysis,

·       Graphical presentation of research results

·       Creation of presentations

·       Support in teaching activities

 

Your Profile

 

·       Structured and independent work style, as well as a high level of motivation to participate in interdisciplinary research

·       Reliability, commitment, teamwork skills, and strong communication skills

·       Knowledge of sustainability assessment of technical systems is an advantage

·       Experience with quantitative modeling and assessment methods and software, as well as programming skills (e.g., Python) and knowledge of operations research, are an advantage

·       Excellent written and spoken German and English skills

·       Varied tasks and participation in national and international research projects

·       Acquisition of knowledge in the areas of life cycle assessment, material flow modeling, and resource management

·       Excellent preparation for writing academic papers (seminar papers, bachelor's or master's theses)

·       Flexible working hours

·       Scope: 32 hours per month, acc. to University of Freiburg’s remuneration (link)

·       Contract duration: 6 months (long-term employment is the goal)
