Description
The holder of the professorship should represent the field of New Testament literature and exegesis in its entirety, both in research and teaching. Interdisciplinary openness, methodological and hermeneutical breadth, along with specific areas of focus within New Testament research, are
anticipated. Research competence in early Christian literature and environment is desired.
In teaching, creative participation in all degree programmes and interdisciplinary courses offered by the Faculty of Theology is expected. Furthermore, there should be an eagerness to engage in the Faculty's collaborations and projects, to further network on an interdisciplinary and international level and to contribute to shaping the research profile of the Faculty and the University.
The Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg seeks to attract an exceptional individual who has
demonstrated their academic qualifications by completing a university degree in Catholic Theology, supported by excellent thesis and other internationally recognised achievements.
The prerequisites for employment as Professors include a university degree, an exceptional dissertation, and an excellent publication record. Significant achievements and experience in academic research and teaching at the level of a Habilitation, as per the German academic system, are anticipated.
