Description
The RTS research group performs resilience analyses for different scenarios. In this project, the focus lies on analyzing community resilience in the context of major events in Freiburg. The goal is to quantify and validate the improvements in community resilience through the implementation of a dynamic resilience management system. This includes modelling and analysing operational processes as well as collecting and analysing empirical data from the associated socio-technical systems.
Tasks:
- Literature research in the area of measuring and validating community resilience, simulation techniques
- Data acquisition and analysis in validation tests
- Simulation with AnyLogic
- Documentation of the results on a scientific level
Your profile:
- You are a Master’s student of a technical or scientific subject, e.g., computer science, mathematics, engineering or a comparable field of study with an interest in socio-technical systems
- Initial experience in empirical data collection and data analysis preferred
- Initial experience with modelling and simulation techniques preferred
- You are motivated and enjoy independent, result- and team-oriented work
- You are proficient in both German and English
