Chemie (Chemistry)

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

The Master's programme in Chemistry enables students to deepen their knowledge in the core areas of chemistry. In addition, the programme offers a wide range of course options in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, functional materials, spectroscopy, macromolecular and theoretical chemistry. In addition to specialised studies, there is a focus on methodological work in the laboratory and preparation for independent research. In project internships and as well as their Master's thesis, students actively participate in current research projects and are thus specifically prepared for independent scientific work. In addition to specialised knowledge, graduates possess a variety of skills including the ability to work independently and solve complex problems using analytical thinking. This qualifies them for responsible positions in research, industry and administration. The Master's degree also provides the prerequisite for a doctorate and thus for the entry into an academic career.
