Master of Science (M.Sc.)

The accredited one-year Master’s programme Global Urban Health (60 ECTS; taught in English) offers professionals from diverse backgrounds a high-quality practice-oriented postgraduate training on urban health issues with career opportunities at national and international level. The Master’s interactive methodology with excursions to institutions bridging public health, urban studies and social sciences prepares students to deal with complex urban challenges. It includes research concepts and methods addressing urban health, statistics, epidemiology, qualitative research, economics as well as modules on communicable diseases & quality-assured programmes, environment & non-communicable diseases, migration & mental health. Research projects aid in applying a variety of methods. Students develop a holistic perspective of health in urban environments valuing interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable solutions emerged from partnerships. They cultivate innovation and adaptability to design responses to evolving challenges and decision-making processes that promote healthier, more equitable cities worldwide. The alumni are making impactful contributions to the academic, governmental and non-governmental sectors.
