The international Master in Biomedical Sciences (IMBS) is a two-year, full-time, on-campus double degree programme in English. It consists of interdisciplinary modules and practical laboratory work and takes place at the partner university in Buenos Aires and at the University of Freiburg, concluding with two Master of Science degrees from both universities. The Master’s programme is designed for students with a Bachelor’s degree in Life or Natural Sciences. Modules provide interdisciplinary knowledge and current research standards in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Microsystems Technology, and Bioethics. Students study in an international, intercultural environment across two continents, learn Spanish and German, and receive tailored advice on administrative, study-related, career, and personal matters. The degree provides the basis for a biomedical, basic, or clinically oriented career in research and development in academia or industry, within the health, nutrition, and medical sectors of national or international institutions.
