Deutsch-Französisches Recht (German-French Law)

Master of Laws (LL.M.)

The Double Master´s in German-French Law offers a unique opportunity to study both German and French law in depth. Students can choose specializations in legal systems of both countries according to their interests. With increasing European integration, knowledge of other legal systems and confident use of the European languages are becoming even more important. Together with ten students from the Université de Strasbourg, the ten participants from the University of Freiburg complete a two-year master´s programme in Strasbourg and Freiburg. Upon completion, they obtain a Master 2 in Strasbourg and an LL.M. in Freiburg. The programme promotes a comparative evaluation of different legal systems and the understanding that law can be practiced in different ways. It also offers the opportunity to pursue a legal career in France and provides enhanced qualifications for working in a European institution.
