Biologie (Biology)

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

In the Master’s in Biology for Teacher Education, university students will learn how to present biological concepts in a way that inspires future students -ranging from human biology and biodiversity to biotechnology and molecular biology. The programme complements the subject-specific and pedagogical skills you acquired in your teacher-training Bachelor’s program, preparing you for your teaching internship and a career as a high school teacher. The programme stands out in its respectful interaction between students and faculty. As part of the M.Ed., the Faculty of Biology works closely with the University of Education Freiburg, particularly with the Institute of Biology and its Didactics. There is intensive collaboration in teaching to exchange expertise in the university’s subject-specific knowledge with the University of Education’s expertise in subject didactics. Biologists with this degree are qualified to teach at high schools.
