Italienisch (Italian)

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The M.Ed. in Italian deepens competences in Italian language, literature, and culture and prepares students for teaching at Gymnasium (secondary school). It combines subject-specific study with subject didactics and educational sciences. The programme centres on advanced seminars in Italian linguistics, literary, and cultural studies, alongside development of students’ language skills. Subject-didactics modules provide theory and practical methods for teaching Italian, complemented by a school placement semester and educational sciences for key pedagogical competences. The programme qualifies graduates for the teacher training period (Referendariat) and Gymnasium teaching. They gain strong Italian language skills, subject knowledge, and didactic expertise, with career opportunities in cultural, educational, media, and international fields.
