Latein (Latin)

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education in Latin deepens students’ knowledge of the language, literature, and culture of the Roman world and prepares them for teaching at Gymnasium level (German secondary school). It combines subject-specific, didactic, and educational content. In addition to in-depth study of Latin language and literature, subject-specific teaching courses provide theoretical foundations and practical methods for teaching classical languages. The school practice semester offers early insight into teaching, while educational science modules develop key pedagogical skills. The programme qualifies graduates directly for teacher training and entry into the teaching profession at Gymnasium. Graduates gain solid knowledge of Latin, in-depth subject expertise, and well-developed teaching skills, with opportunities also in science, management, and publishing.
