Master of Arts (M.A.)

The Master's programme Study of Religion offers insights into contemporary religious cultures across Europe and their international connections, aiding understanding of social change and power structures. The Master's programme educates students in perspectives on cultural studies and the reflection on scientific theories. Traditional and modern forms of religion, ideology, ritual, body, and psychological techniques are critically examined using a structured approach. What makes this programme distinctive is its broad and interdisciplinary method, which integrates historical, social, and cognitive science knowledge. In their study project, students can already undertake independent research or explore a professional field. They learn to recognise worldviews and forms of discrimination and can work in many areas of society as journalists, adult educators, and consultants.
